Paying for college is hard. Each year, UMHEF invites students to apply scholarships to help make attending college or seminary less of a financial burden. A nonprofit foundation, we award $2+ million annually to students attending United Methodist-related schools.

Next Steps for Applicants

If you applied for UMHEF scholarships to help fund the 2026-2027 academic year, here’s what you can expect next:

  • UMHEF staff will spend the next several weeks processing and reviewing applications. So that they can focus on this task, inquiries about the status of an application cannot be answered.
  • Notifications about award status will be sent to all applicants to the email address provided on the application; in some cases, letters will be mailed.
  • If awarded a scholarship, your notification will include important instructions for completing the process.
