Applications Open January 1 - April 1

Each year, UMHEF invites students to apply scholarships to help pay for college or seminary. A nonprofit foundation, we award $2+ million annually to students attending United Methodist-related schools. Links to applications for the 2025-2026 academic year can be found below and will be open January 1 – April 1, 2025.

What You Need to Know

Please read ALL of the following before proceeding:

  • Review UMEHF’s eligibility requirements and FAQs.
  • If applying for the UM Dollars for Scholars scholarship, contact your church ahead of time to secure their sponsorship.
  • Please use an email address you check often on your application; this is the primary method we will use to contact you with questions and notification of your award status.
  • Unless otherwise noted, the deadline to apply is April 1, 2025. This date considers expected FAFSA delays; UMHEF will not issue any additional deadline extensions this year.
  • Award notifications will be sent (most via email using the address you provide on your application) around the middle of June.
  • Awarded students will be asked to provide a Verification of Enrollment Form, which will be sent with your award notification. It must be returned by October 1, 2025.
  • Once enrollment is verified, awarded funds will be sent directly to your school by mid-November (some exceptions may apply).
  • Parents, if you are helping your child apply, please be sure to provide their information – not your own – where requested on the application(s).
