The following facts and figures breaks down the impact, by the numbers, of the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation in 2023.
$1,931,544 was awarded in scholarships to United Methodist students in 2023!
*This is more than $42,700 than in 2022!
Scholarships included:
- $1,072,596 awarded in UM Dollars for Scholars awards to 411 students
- $741,948 awarded in General Named Endowed awards to 322 students
- $117,000 awarded in Foundation Merit Scholarship awards to 39 seminary students
- Of the total amount, $111,750 was awarded to 32 students attending United Methodist-related Historically Black Colleges & Universities
Of our total 772 UMHEF scholars in 2023, 538 were undergraduates and 234 were seminarians.
More About 2023 UM Dollars for Scholars Awards
The UM Dollars for Scholars scholarships is a matching award program that begins with a $1,000 scholarship from a student’s church. UMHEF matches this, for a total of $2,000. Additional matches may also be awarded from participating UM-related schools and UM conference foundations. Learn more.
