UM Dollars for Scholars: Start the Conversation
By now, you know that the UM Dollars for Scholars program begins with a $1,000 scholarship from your church and can multiply into as much as $4,000 through matches from participating United Methodist partners. We are making it easier than ever to start the conversation!
“But what should I say?”
Let your pastor or church leader know about the program and allow them to plan funds accordingly. We’ve got you covered with a conversation starter. Simply copy and paste the following message into an email or use as a guideline when meeting in person.
I am interested in applying for the United Methodist Dollars for Scholars scholarship offered by the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation, but I need your help! If the church is able and willing to sponsor me with a $1,000 scholarship, the UM Dollars for Scholars program will match it for a total of up to $4,000. This would make a huge difference in allowing me to attend a UM-related college.
