As part of the recently published Annual Review, the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation presents the following facts and figures that report on the foundation’s work and impact in 2024.
2024 SCHOLARSHIP DISTRIBUTION
$1,914,196 Awarded!
Including:
- $1,114, 329 awarded through the UM Dollars for Scholars program to 419 students
- $709,867 awarded in General Named Endowed scholarships to 300 students
- $90,000 awarded in Foundation Merit awards to 30 seminary students
More About 2024 Scholars
- 458 scholars were undergraduates
- 256 scholars were seminarians
- 35 scholars attend a United Methodist-related HBCU
UM Dollars for Scholars Figures
The $1,114, 329 awarded through the UM Dollars for Scholars program to 419 students in 2024 was made possible, in part, to the following partners. UMHEF is grateful for this ongoing vital support.
- 319 churches sponsored $1,000 scholarships for each student awarded, kicking off the matching program
- 78 UM-related schools provided matches
- 30 UM conference foundations provided matches
GIVING IN 2024
$1,261,797 Donated by 550 Donors
- Represents a 21% increase over 2023
- 39% was given by individuals
- 34% was given by churches
- 22% was given by Methodist foundations
- 5% of gifts fell into “other” categories
- 2024 donors represented 44 states and the District of Columbia

- 2024 Total Assets were $64,085,514 (as of 12/31/24)
- Since its founding in 1965, UMHEF has awarded upwards of $25 million in scholarships to more than 10,000 students!
